Electrotherapy is the use of electrical energy as a medical treatment. There are many types of this treatment modality however only two are used here at Ascension Sports Therapy - TENS & EMS. What is TENS?
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a system within a wireless and portable device that comes with electrodes and pods that you apply directly to your pain points. Once installed on the skin (non-invasive), you will feel pulses and tingling sensations on that particular area.
Benefits
TENS is a revolutionary way of relieving pain. The electrical pulses supply stimulation to the sensory nerves to provide relief in the affected area(s). These pulses block the pain signals that travel through the brain and spinal cord, helping soothe any discomfort by relaxing your muscles.
